AAUSC Spotlight: Meeting Expectations: Proficiency Assessment and Curricular Response

The session reports on a four-year Language Flagship-sponsored project in which over 8,000 students completed ACTFL proficiency tests in speaking, reading, and listening at three institutions. Proficiency ratings, factors contributing to proficiency, and effects of systematic testing on curriculum and institutional climate will be discussed.
