Spread the word!

According to a recent MLA report (ADFL 2004), Spanish continues to be the most commonly taught foreign language in higher education over the last four-plus decades, accounting for over half of language enrollments in college and universities. As those numbers continue to grow, we know that Spanish program director positions continue also to increase - yet we remain relatively underrepresented in this organization. AAUSC offers valuable resources to LPDs of programs of all shapes and sizes, please consider joining and recommending the organization to your colleagues. Click here for more information!

Foreign Language and Culture Assistants in Spain

As in previous years, the Ministry of Education of Spain is accepting applicants for the Foreign Language and Culture Assistants program. The minimum requirement is junior status in a Spanish BA program, but recent graduates of both the BA and MA also qualify. This year the program will accept over 1,200 assistants. The deadline for application is April 15. For more information visit the Ministry's webpage.
