In order for this list to be effective both as a professional resource and as a place to discuss issues in our field, we need to hear from one another. HOW DO I JOIN OR LEAVE THE LIST?

Visit the FLASC-L information page and follow the instructions under subscribing to FLASC-L.

HOW DO I POST A MESSAGE?

Address your message to FLASC-L@UCI.EDU. It will then be disseminated to everyone who is signed onto the list. At the end of the message you should include your electronic address so that others will be able to contact you off the list when appropriate.

WHAT KINDS OF MESSAGES SHOULD BE SENT TO FLASC-L?

Basically, any topic related to foreign-language program coordination is appropriate. This may include T.A. training and supervision, articulation of courses, textbooks, methodology, issues in grading, evaluation of T.A. performance, the articulation of TA training with graduate programs in literature, working conditions of supervisors/coordinators, etc. FLASC-L is intended as an open, supportive collegial forum where diverse views can be expressed and discussed in a spirit of mutual respect.

HOW DO I RESPOND TO A MESSAGE?

If you want your response to be part of an open discussion on the topic of the message, send your message to FLASC-L (as above). If your reply is of particular interest only to the person writing that message, however, you should respond directly to that person, off the list.

WHAT IF I AM AWAY TEMPORARILY AND DON'T WANT TO GET MESSAGES DURING THAT TIME?
